Basketball Departs on 10-Day European Tour

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A Thursday cross-Atlantic flight awaits the Aggie men's basketball team as the squad embarks on a 10-tour of Italy and Greece.
"We're excited for this trip," Texas A&M head coach Billy Kennedy said. "Our guys have worked hard all summer and they're ready to go."
The trip will span from Aug. 13-23 and see the Aggies visit the Italian cities of Rome, Latina, Sorrento and Pompeii before concluding the voyage in Athens, Greece. The trip will give the team a chance to bond while experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the region and play in four exhibition contests, the first coming on Aug. 15 against the Nigeria National Team in Rome.
Additional competition will see the Aggies face the Latina All-Stars in Latina, Italy, on Aug. 16 before traveling to Athens where they take on the Athens All-Stars on Aug. 20 and the Athens All-Stars II Aug 21.
"We're going to play everybody a lot of minutes, put a lot of rotations out there and do a lot of different things on the court," Kennedy added. "The biggest thing that we hope comes out of this trip is that we develop some strong relationships and chemistry that will help us have a special season."
Due to SEC television/streaming policies no live coverage of the games will be available, however, 12thMan.com will have recaps, highlights and interviews throughout the trip.
