Starting Quarterback Named for Arizona State Game

COLLEGE STATION—Texas A&M Head Football Coach Kevin Sumlin announced today that Kyle Allen will be the starting quarterback in the Aggie's season opener Sept. 5 against Arizona State in NRG Stadium in Houston.
Allen, from Scottsdale, Ariz., was a true freshman in 2014 and started the final five games of the season and earned MVP honors in the Aggies' 2014 AutoZone Liberty Bowl win over West Virginia. Allen also led the Aggies to a 41-38 road win over No. 3-ranked Auburn and was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week for completing 19-of-29 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns.
