
Aggies Face Longhorns in Battle 4 Atlantis Opening Round

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The Texas A&M men's basketball team will face off against Texas during the opening round of the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis (Nov. 25-27) at Paradise Island, Bahamas, as the bracket for the event was revealed Thursday by ESPN.
The tournament's first day features four games, beginning with the below matchups, with all game times to be determined at a later date:
Game 1: Gonzaga vs. Washington (ESPN)
Game 2: UNC-Charlotte vs. Syracuse (ESPN)
Game 3: Texas A&M vs. Texas (AXS TV)
Game 4: Michigan vs. Connecticut (AXS TV)
The Aggies and Longhorns have a lengthy history on the hardwood, with Texas standing out as A&M's most common opponent at 222 all-time meetings in men's basketball. The two schools, whose home arenas are separated by just 86 miles, played annually as members of the Southwest Conference and the Big 12 Conference from 1917 through 2012, when the Aggies joined the Southeastern Conference.
Texas becomes the fourth school from the Big 12 that Texas A&M will face in non-conference play during the 2015-16 campaign, joining the trio of Kansas State (Dec. 12), Baylor (Dec. 19) and Iowa State (Jan. 30), who will make visits to Reed Arena this season.
As part of Atlantis' multiyear TV agreements for media rights with ESPN and AXS TV, all 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis games will be aired live on ESPN, ESPN2 and AXS TV. The entirety of the 12-game tournament will take place in Atlantis' Imperial Arena, the unique and impressive 3,900-seat arena.
