No. 11 Women's Golf Faces Nine Top 16 Teams At Annika Intercollegiate

ORLANDO, Fla.- Texas A&M women's golf heads to the prestigious Annika Intercollegiate, starting on Sunday, September 27 and running through September 29 at the Reunion Resort in Orlando. The event features each of the top six schools in the Golfweek Preseason Rankings, and 10 of the top 16 squads in the nation.
In addition to the No. 11 Aggies, the field features No. 1 Duke, No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 USC, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Arizona, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 LSU, No. 30 Washington and UCF. The event features six of the eight quarterfinalists from the 2015 NCAA Championship, and 11 of the 12 teams qualified for the final tournament of the NCAA Championships in 2015.
Even though it is after just one tournament and two rounds, Texas A&M leads the nation in stroke average (71.40) and birdies per round (4.00). Individually, Andrea Jonama and Thanya Pattamakijsakul are tied for third with a 69.00 stroke average. Defending SEC Champion Bianca Fabrizio is tied for 24th and defending SEC Runner-Up Maddie Szeryk is tied for 39th. Those four are joined by junior Callie Scheffler to round out A&M's line-up at the 54-hole tournament.
The Aggies are coming off second place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic, where the Aggies shot a school-record 274 in the second and final round. The Aggies had two players, Andrea Jonama and Thanya Pattamakijsakul, finish in the tie for sixth at 138 (-4).
The Aggies tee off starting at 7:50 a.m. CT off of Hole No. 10 of the par 72 / 6,245 yard course on Sunday.
After the Annika Intercollegiate, the Aggies head to the Jim West Classic at Tapatio Springs (Boerne, Texas) from Oct. 4-6.
