
Former A&M Track & Field Standout Palomo on SEC Network Broadcast

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The SEC Network will cover the sport of track and field live for the first time on Saturday and former Texas A&M javelin standout and current ESPN personality Fernando Palomo will be there to help describe the action.
The ground-breaking SEC Network broadcast of the Razorback Invitational begins at 12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 30. Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Iowa, Iowa State, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas A&M and UCLA are expected to participate.
Palomo will serve as the on-site reporter, while two-time Olympic medalist and ten-time world record setting men's high jumper Dwight Stones will provide the play-by-play alongside analysts Dan O'Brien, gold-medalist and three-time World Champion in the decathlon, and Jill Montgomery, former Kansas State track & field athlete and two-time USA Indoor Champion.
Palomo, a native of El Salvador, lettered for the Aggies from 1994-96 and finished his Texas A&M career as the school's No. 3 all-time performer in the javelin with a best throw of 237-1 in 1996.
Palomo is best known as ESPN's lead soccer play-by-play commentator covering European soccer in Spanish. He is the host of Fuera de Juego, ESPN Deportes and ESPN International's highest-rated international soccer program since 2006.
Palomo regularly contributes to ESPN's soccer coverage in English as a studio commentator and play-by-play for select matches. Palomo joined ESPN in 2000 as a SportsCenter anchor for ESPN in Latin America. He also served as an anchor for SportsCenter for ESPN Deportes from 2004 – 2006.
