
Texas A&M to Host High School Classic

COLLEGE STATION—Texas A&M University and the Gilliam Indoor Track and Field Stadium will serve as host to the largest indoor high school track meet ever held in the state of Texas with more than 1,800 participants expected on campus on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 8-9.
"What an opportunity for Texas A&M and our community to host these high school student-athletes this weekend," Aggie track and field coach Pat Henry said. "It is the largest indoor track meet in the state and what a thrill for these young people to have the chance to compete and showcase their talents on a world-class track. I hope our community will come out and support this event. Just having these youngsters and their schools and families on campus is a positive for our overall community and university."
The meet will begin with the national anthem being played at 4:55 pm on Friday, Jan. 8 and the first running events begin at 5 p.m.
Field events will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8.
The morning session on Saturday, Jan. 9 begins at 9:30 a.m. with field events slated for 10:30 a.m.
The afternoon session will commence with a national anthem at 2:55 p.m. followed by running and field events beginning at 3 p.m.
Ticket windows will open at 3 p.m. on Friday and at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the front of the McFerrin Athletic Center.
All session tickets are $10 for general admission and $20 for reserved seats. Single day tickets are $7 for general admission and $12 for reserved seats.
