COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A trio of diving standouts have signed national letters of intent with Texas A&M and will join the Aggie women's swimming and diving team for the 2017-18 season, diving coach Jay Lerew announced.
Joining the Aggies' dive crew next season will be Charlye Campbell (Midland, Texas), Kaja Skrzek (Rzeszow, Poland) and Harper Walding (Montgomery, Texas).
Campbell, who trains under Gabi Chereches at COM Aquatics in Midland, Texas, was a semifinalist in the three-meter springboard and platform dives at the 2016 USA Diving Junior National Championships and she has qualified for Junior Nationals every year since 2009. Competing for Midland Lee High School, Campbell earned first-team Class 6A all-state honors the past two seasons and was her district's Diver of the Meet three times.
Skrzek is the current Polish National Champion on the one- and three-meter springboard dives and she's also the European Junior Champion on both boards. Skrzek is currently in Kazan, Russia representing Poland in the World Junior Diving Championships.
Walding, who trains under former Texas A&M interim diving coach Kenny Armstrong at The Woodlands Diving Academy, was the district champion in the one-meter dive and went on to earn all-state honors while competing for Montgomery High School. She was also qualifier for the 2016 USA Junior National Championships.
