Aggie Soccer Announces Spring Playing Dates

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Soccer announced their spring slate Monday with five playing dates scheduled for Ellis Field in the coming weeks.
"The 2018 spring season is a great opportunity for the development for our talented team," head coach G Guerrieri said. "This is our first time in four years playing without the four graduating seniors that factored so much in our recent success. This is a chance for new stars to rise into prominent roles on this team. Our supporters and fans should be excited about our schedule of games this spring. All our games are home at Ellis Field and all our spring dates feature free admission into the stadium."
The spring season kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 24 when the Aggies host a three-team, round-robin event with Rice and Lamar traveling to College Station. Six days later the Maroon & White host Houston Dash of the NWSL in a 7:30 p.m. match Friday, March 2.
Ellis Field will host three Mexico U-20 Women's National Team matches in March. On Tuesday, March 8 the Aggies get their shot at El Tri with match slated for 8 p.m. Mexico plays Stephen F. Austin on March 6 and Oklahoma State on March 10.
The spring slate wraps up with home matches against TCU on March 24 and the University of Houston on March 30.
"I'm looking forward to seeing our team grow and take on some tough exhibition opponents," Guerrieri said. "The spring will bring a variety of challenges. There will be three opponents who participated in the recent NCAA tournament, an opponent who will be playing in the upcoming U20 Women's World Cup and an opponent who plays in the professional ranks with the NWSL. 2018 can be another great year for Aggie soccer, and I'm excited about introducing a taste to our fans this spring."
All spring soccer matches are free to the public.
Texas A&M wrapped up the 2017 season with a program-best record of 18-2-2 and an SEC Championship. The Maroon & White earned a bid to their 23rd consecutive NCAA Championship and advanced to the second round of the tournament for the 20th straight season.
