SERIES PREVIEW: Auburn

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies open up their sixth season of SEC play Friday as they travel to face the Auburn Tigers. The series marks the first true road games for the Aggies in 2018 and the first time they leave the state of Texas during the campaign.
Texas A&M is one of four teams to rank in the top 20 in the nation in both ERA (4th) and runs scored (17th). The Aggies are the only team ranked in the top 20 in the nation in both ERA and batting average (19th).
The series matches the No. 4 ERA in the country with the No. 5 team in the nation in scoring with A&M posting a 1.94 ERA and Auburn averaging 9.4 runs per game.
Texas A&M is outscoring opponents 20-2 in the first inning, 37-6 in the first two frames and 57-13 in the first three innings.
Zach DeLoach enters the weekend ranked second in the nation with four triples and 15th with 21 runs. Logan Foster ranks 10th in RBI with 25 and 23rd in total bases (46). Michael Helman ranks 17th in hits (28).
Both squads entered the week in the top 10 in the four nationally recognized polls. Texas A&M ranges from No. 6 to No. 10 while Auburn's slotting varies from No. 13 to No. 15.
Friday night the SEC Network will provide whip-around coverage of the opening night of league play. Every game of the series is available for viewing on SEC Network +.
