GAME PREVIEW: Texas State
Apr 16, 2018 | Baseball
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 14 Texas A&M caps off their eight-game home stand Tuesday evening as the Aggies host the Texas State Bobcats on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park with a 6:32 p.m. first pitch.
Tuesday's game has been designated as the Aggies' annual "Step in Stand up" game to raise awareness about sexual violence. In support of national Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in April, the baseball team is again partnering with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to event.
The Aggies will wear teal hats Tuesday, as teal is the designated color of Sexual Assault Awareness. Student-athletes and advocates will collect donations for the Sexual Assault Resource Center of Brazos Valley (SARC). Teal promotional giveaways are scheduled, provided by the Step In Stand Up campaign. Educational materials will be provided at each venue by SARC and the Office of CLEAR (Consensual Language, Education, Awareness, and Relationships). The game will feature an activist for sexual assault prevention throwing out the first pitch as the Aggies gather by the pitchers' mounds to show their support.
The Maroon & White look to extend their win streak to seven games, with the current run beginning when Michael Helman was moved to the leadoff spot for the second game of the LSU series.
