COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies open April and a nine-game homestand when they host the Houston Cougars in a 6:32 p.m. contest on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
Texas A&M enters the week ranked in the top 15 in the nation in triples (6th - 12), WHIP (8th - 1.15), ERA (13th - 2.83), double plays (13th - 28), hits (14th - 298), double plays (13th - 28), BB/9inn (15th - 2.90), and K-to-BB ratio (15th - 2.90).
The Aggie offense is pouncing early in 2018. The Maroon & White have scored first 21 of the 29 games on the season, including scoring in the first inning in 15 games. Texas A&M is outscoring opponents 28-3 in the first inning, 55-10 in the first two frames and 79-21 in the first three innings.
Michael Helman ranks sixth the nation in hits (48) and 31st in runs (31) and Zach DeLoach ranks third in triples (5).
Allonte Wingate played for Houston in 2016, appearing in four games as a freshman.
