COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 18 Texas A&M looks to extend their six-game home win streak as they host the Abilene Christian Wildcats Tuesday evening on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park with a 6:32 p.m. first pitch.
The Aggies are 74-4 in regular-season non-conference home games since 2015, including 16-1 in 2018.
Texas A&M is ranked in the top 25 in the nation in ERA (8th - 2.98), triples (12th - 15), WHIP (14th - 1.21), hits (20th - 407).
The Aggie offense is pouncing early in 2018, scoring first in 28 of the 40 games on the season, including scoring in the first inning in 20 games. Texas A&M is outscoring opponents 47-8 in the first inning, 79-16 in the first two frames and 111-34 in the first three innings.
Michael Helman leads the Aggie offense with a .395 average, good for 25th in the nation, his 64 hits are the 12th most in the country. Zach DeLoach ranks 10th in the nation in triples (5).
Braden Shewmake hit 8-for-14 over last week's four games, scoring six times and homering once. Shewmake pitched in two RBI over the weekend adding to his team-leading 37 ribbies.
