GAME PREVIEW: Prairie View A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 18 Texas A&M Aggies open May with a Tuesday evening affair against the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Maroon & White enter the fray with an eight-game home win streak, including five SEC games. The Aggies are 75-4 in regular-season non-conference home games since 2015, including 16-1 in 2018.
Texas A&M is ranked in the top 25 in the nation in ERA (11th – 3.10), hits (16th – 452), WHIP (17th – 1.23), triples (18th – 15) and walks allowed per nine innings (24th – 3.14).
Zach DeLoach is coming off earning his third SEC Freshman of the Year honor, the fifth player in league history to reach the mark. He hit .471 (8-for-17) with three runs, one double, two RBI and one stolen base and he added one outfield assist.
Michael Helman leads the Aggie offense with a .385 average, good for 30th in the nation and he ranks 11th in the nation with 69 hits and 44th with 45 runs.
George Janca is coming off a weekend where he hit .455 (5-for-11) with one home run, five RBI and two stolen bases.
The Aggie offense is pouncing early in 2018, scoring first in 31 of the 44 games on the season, including scoring in the first inning in 22 games. Texas A&M is outscoring opponents 49-8 in the first inning and 84-20 in the first two frames.
