Aggies Drop Series Opener to Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas used a pair of big innings to pull away for a 9-3 win in Friday night's series opener at Baum Stadium.
The Razorbacks scored four in the first, highlighted by a 3-run homer by Carson Shaddy.
Hunter Coleman delivered his fifth homer of the year to open the top of the second. Coleman was 2-for-4 on the night, being joined by Zach DeLoach as the only Aggies with multiple hits in the game.
Texas A&M pulled within one at 4-3 on a 2-run shot by Will Frizzell in the fourth inning. Frizzell battled a stiff wind for his sixth long ball of 2018.
Arkansas pulled away with five in the fifth. The Razorbacks had just two hits in the frame, but took advantage of three walks and a hit batter as A&M starter Mitchell Kilkenny was chased from the game.
Kilkenny dropped to 8-3 on the year, allowing seven runs on nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work. Asa Lacy allowed a pair of runs before Chandler Jozwiak worked a scoreless 3.2 innings. Jozwiak didn't allow a hit while striking out three.
Arkansas improved to 34-15 and 15-10 in league play. Texas A&M dropped to 34-15 and 12-13 in the SEC.
