T3 | A leadoff bunt single by Riley McKnight sparked a Bearkats' rally. Blake Chisolm followed with a single to rightfield and with one out, Andrew Fregia was hit by a pitch to load the bases. The Aggies tried to turn a 3-6-1 double play on a grounder by Clayton Harp, but the throw to first base sailed wide of the bag, allowing two runs to score. A&M 2, SHSU 2.
B6 | Texas A&M reclaimed the lead with a three-spot. With one out, Walters singled to second base and Janca followed with a single to rightfield to put runners on the corners. Wingate slapped a hit-and-run single through the right side, plating Walters and moving Janca to third. Zach DeLoach drove in Janca with a sacrifice fly and Wingate hustled to second with the throw going home. The rally was capped off when the Sam Houston State leftfield had to short hop a sinking line drive by Helman for an RBI single. A&M 5, SHSU 2.

TEXAS A&M QUOTES
Head Coach Rob Childress
On picking up a win after a tough Arkansas series…
"I couldn't be more proud of our guys. It was a tough plane ride home. They were disappointed and so were we. We're all in this together. We're not any more disappointed than our players are. For them to come out with energy and enthusiasm and be ready to play so we didn't have to sit on the losses all week before a weekend series was great."
On momentum going into the South Carolina series…
"Hopefully this gives us quite a bit of momentum. It's all about the finish and it's our last home weekend of the regular season. It's hard to believe that it's here. South Carolina is an incredibly hot team right now and playing really good. I'm certainly glad we have them at home."
Senior RHP Cason Sherrod
On picking up a win after a tough Arkansas series…
"Obviously this is a momentum and confidence booster. After you have a weekend like we did at Arkansas, to bounce back like this shows our courage and strength. We just regrouped and got after them today."
On the pitchers tonight…
"It all started with (Kaylor) Chafin on the mound in the first and second inning. It was big time. He got us off to a good start. The guys that came in behind him did their job. The bullpen hasn't been getting it done, myself included so tonight was definitely a confidence booster."
Sophomore 1B Hunter Coleman
On picking up the win…
"It's definitely very big for us. Just kind of getting that taste out of our mouth and coming back to compete against a good Sam Houston State team. They came in a competed like they do year-in and year-out and it was definitely good for us to get back in the win column."
On momentum going into South Carolina…
"It gave a little confidence back. We made some adjustments offensively that worked as a team tonight. Getting us good mojo again."
Junior OF Allonte Wingate
On the difference in play tonight…
"We just got to our approach and stuck to our approach. Landed on pitches, and did a good job tonight of landing on pitches and not swing through a lot of pitches. That's just the difference in putting the ball in play and making people make plays and hitting balls hard."
On getting the win…
"It's huge to get the win, get failure off our mind. It was just a rough weekend but you got to get ready for the next game. Like tomorrow we have practice so that is what is on our minds now. Then Thursday, Friday and Saturday we have South Carolina."
