COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 18 Texas A&M Aggies look to stay in the SEC title hunt as they host the first-place and top-ranked Florida Gators to Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The games on Saturday and Sunday will air on the SEC Network and ESPN2, respectively with Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Chris Burke (color analyst) on the call.
Every game of the series is available for viewing on SEC Network +. SEC Network + provides digital-only events to SEC Network subscribers through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on smartphones, computers, tablets and connected devices (Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One). All three games will air on SportsRadio 1150/102.7 The Zone with Dave South on the call.
The Maroon & White enter the fray with an nine-game home win streak, including five SEC games. The Aggies are 24-4 at home in 2018, sporting a .310 batting average and 2.14 ERA at the friendly confines.
Michael Helman leads the Aggie offense with a .390 average, good for 24th in the nation and he ranks 10th in the nation with 71 hits and 27th with 48 runs.
On the mound, Mitchell Kilkenny ranks sixth in the nation with eight wins as well as 49th in ERA (2.12) and 57th in WHIP (1.01).
The Aggies are ranked in the top 25 in the nation in ERA (10th - 3.03), hits (15th - 468), triples (15th - 1.6), WHIP (15th - 1.22) and walks allowed/9 inn (19th - 3.07).
Zach DeLoach is coming off earning his third SEC Freshman of the Week honor, the fifth player in league history to reach the mark.
The Aggie offense is pouncing early in 2018, scoring first in 32 of the 45 games on the season and scoring in the first inning in 23 games. Texas A&M is outscoring opponents 55-8 in the first inning and 94-20 in the first two frames.
There will be special recognitions during the Saturday and Sunday pregame activities. The 2008 Big 12 Championship team will be honored on Saturday. Sunday is designated as Cooper Williams Day. The family of Cooper Williams, the eight-year-old son of a Texas A&M professor who died in a car accident in late December, will be in attendance to honor Cooper's deep love for the Aggies. He would have turned nine on May 7.
