True freshman wide receiver Christian Kirk generated a career-high 255 all-purpose yards in the Aggies' 28-21 overtime win over Arkansas at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday.
Kirk, from Scottsdale, Ariz., culminated his big day against the Razorbacks with a 20-yard touchdown catch in the first overtime that provided the winning margin for the Aggies in their Southeastern Conference season-opener. For the game, the do-it-all Kirk piled up 174 receiving yards on eight catches (both career highs), 77 yards on four kickoff returns and had one carry for five yards.
It was Kirk's third 100-yard receiving game in just his fourth career game with the Aggies. Kirk has already matched the freshman season school record of three 100-yard games set originally by Uzoma Nwachukwu in 2009 and matched by Mike Evans in 2012. Kirk also had 106 receiving yards against Arizona State and 137 yards against Nevada.
