In 1894, Texas and Texas A&M met for the first time on the gridiron. Located 104 miles apart, the Longhorns and Aggies have competed against each other in more than 1,000 head-to-head competitions. After parting ways as conference foes in 2011, Texas is joining Texas A&M in the SEC. 2024 will be the 119th meeting on the football field, for the first time since 2011. In each year, the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown will include all NCAA varsity-level head-to-head regular season competitions between Texas and Texas A&M as scheduled or Championship competitions involving both Texas and Texas A&M. Points will be awarded in each match-up of the athletic year.
