Brad Dusek was a four-year starter at Temple High School and was a Parade All-American his senior season before signing with Texas A&M. His all-around athletic ability was apparent as he played and started at safety, running back, fullback and linebacker earning three letters (1970-72) in Aggieland. He was recruited and played for Gene Stallings before Emory Bellard took over his senior campaign and Dusek led the Aggie wishbone rushing attack with 549 yards on 124 carries (4.4 average) and scored three touchdowns. Dusek served as a team captain his senior season and was the cover boy for Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine in 1972. He was a third-round NFL draft selection by the New England Patriots and was traded to the Washington Redskins. His eight-year NFL career with the Redskins was highlighted by an All-Pro selection as a linebacker in 1979. He was part of the Redskins’ Over-The-Hill Gang with head coach George Allen, then he played for Washington head coach and former Texas A&M great Jack Pardee before ending his NFL career playing for Joe Gibbs. Dusek is a lifetime member of the Texas A&M Lettermen’s Association.
