Randy Matson put A&M shot put on the map. This Olympic medalist stands as the first person ever to throw a shot put over 70 feet– and he did it right here in Kyle Field in 1965. Although Randy will forever be remembered for his track performances, he also played Aggie basketball, lettering in both sports in 1966. Among his many athletic achievements are:
