The Texas A&M veteran football players reported to campus in time for dinner on Thursday. A total of 105 football players are now on campus with 82 scholarship players and 23 walkons. The squad will begin two-a-day workouts on Saturday.

"I'm excited about getting started with the entire group," Aggie Head Coach R.C. Slocum said. "The veteran players had a good off-season and continued through spring training and into the summer months."

The newcomers worked twice on Thursday. Terry Nichols, a freshman from El Paso Irvin High School, is listed on the Aggie roster as a defensive lineman and he worked some at linebacker.

The annual Aggie Kickoff Camp begins on Friday with 83 participants checking into Cain Hall between 4:30-6 p.m. The campers will undergo workouts on the field and in the weight room, hear scouting reports and watch film just like regular college football players. The campers will be housed at Cain Hall and will also have a curfew.

Coach Slocum and Aggie football will raise $40,000 from the kickoff camp which will be split evenly between the library and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. This marks the fifth year for Coach Slocum to hold the kickoff camp.
