The Texas A&M football team practiced for two hours in full pads Tuesday evening on the Simpson Drill Field on the A&M campus.

Returning to limited action was running back Sirr Parker, who was held out of the Monday two-a-day and the Tuesday morning workout because of a bruised shoulder suffered in Saturday's scrimmage. Parker, a junior from Los Angeles, Calif., led the team in rushing in 1996 with 704 yards on 149 carries.

Missing Tuesday's evening workout with a new injury was starting cornerback Shun Horn, who sprained his ankle during the morning practice. Horn, the most experienced member of the A&M secondary with 12 career starts, will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. Horn posted 52 tackles last season and broke up eight opponent aerials.

Also missing the practice were: running back Eric Bernard (knee), cornerback Sedrick Curry (strained hamstring), tight end Matt Mahone (broken hand) and Delvin Wright (strained groin).

Limited in practice was punter/quarterback Shane Lechler (strained quad) and offensive lineman Chris Valletta (foot).

The Aggies are gearing up for their season opener against Sam Houston State at Kyle Field on Sept. 6.
