Head Coach R.C. Slocum - "We got accomplished what we wanted to get accomplished. We had some rough spots, but we wanted to look at some scheme stuf and play a lot of players. Those were the things we wanted to accomplish and we did that"
(Were you concerned after the Bearkats? first drive) ?Yes and no. You?re concerned because you want to knock them in the dirt from the start. But I?ve been around long enough to know that in the first game of the season your opponent will be scheming and you may struggle. You always have to take that first drive with a grain of salt. They were making plays that we knew could be corrected.?
(On offense) ?I feel good about our offensive coaches being on the same page philosophically. We came into today wanting to mix up the run and the pass, and I thought we had a good mix of playcalling. I thought we demonstrated that we have a chance to be a pretty good passing team. We had some key drops that were disappointing but we also made some good catches.?
(On QBs) ?I have to see the film but generally I was pleased with the play of our quarterbacks. We were definitely going to play both. I?m not opposed to using two quarterbacks. If one clearly steps ahead of the other, then they will see more time. But right now we will continue to do what we did today.?
(On Dante Hall) ?Dante is a special guy. He has tremendous balance. He?s a little guy that gets lost behind all those 6-5 guys. As a defensive coordinator, I hated guys like that.
