The No. 24-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team finished 15th at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Saturday at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.

The Aggies came into Saturday's final round in eighth place after firing a four-over-par 292 in Friday's opening round. Friday's afternoon round was rained out and the tournament was shortened to 36 holes.

A&M struggled to a 16-over-par 304 on Saturday, finishing at 596, 35 strokes behind tournament champion Georgia Tech. The No. 17-ranked Yellowjackets posted a two-round total of 15-under-par 561 to finish eight strokes ahead of second-place Arkansas, ranked No. 25. No.1- ranked Oklahoma State tied for third with No. 5 New Mexico at 573. Oklahoma finished tied for seventh at 582, while Colorado was 14th at 592 and No. 12 Texas tied for 18th at 600.

In addition to finishing ahead of Texas, A&M also beat two other ranked teams. No. 13 Georgia tied for 16th at 597 and No. 22 SMU tied for 18th at 600.

The Aggies were led by junior Ty Cox (Amarillo), who finished tied for 27th with rounds of 72-73=145. Junior Ryan Palmer (Amarillo) fired rounds of 70-78=148, while senior Miguel del Angel finished at 73-77=150. Freshman Ryan Tull carded rounds of 77-77=154 and freshman Clay Fullick shot 79-77=156.

The Aggies return to action at the Missouri Bluffs Intercollegiate Sept. 28-29 in St. Louis.
