Sean Gilliland of Harker Heights, Texas, has signed a national letter-of-intent to play college golf at Texas A&M, Aggies coach Bob Ellis said Friday.
Gilliland won the 1996 Maxfli PGA Junior National Championship and was a three-time all-district pick at Harker Heights High School. He posted 56 top 10 finishes in high school and junior tournaments.
"Sean is a great player with fantastic swing mechanics," A&M assistant coach John Knauer said. "But his 4.0 grade-point average will serve him as well as his golf skills. We are excited about seeing Sean in an A&M uniform."
