Junior forward Calvin Davis scored 22 points, leading a group of six Texas A&M players scoring in double figures, as the Aggies romped over Missouri- Kansas City, 102-61, Monday night at G. Rollie White Coliseum.

The 41-point margin of victory tied for the sixth largest in A&M history and the 102 points marked the first 100-point scoring effort by the Aggies since a 102-95 double overtime win against Montana State in 1993-94.

A&M improves its record to 2-0 while UMKC falls to 0-3.

The Kangaroos took and early 11-10 lead just six minutes into the game but A&M closed the half with a 36-22 run for a 47-32 halftime lead. The Aggies opened the second half with a 31- 7 run to take a 78-39 lead midway through the second half and eventually led by as many as 45 points late in the game.

In addition to his game-high 22 points, Davis added four blocked shots and a career-high four steals. Junior Shanne Jones and senior Larry Thompson each added 13 points, sophomore Steve Houston and junior Chris Richards each scored 11 points and junior Chris Clayton tallied 10 points. Sophomore Jerald Brown posted a career-high 11 rebounds to go with nine points and seven assists.

Houston also handed out eight assists and had a career-high four steals, while freshman Michael Schmidt also had eight assists and scored seven points.

The Aggies connected on 53.1 percent from the field while limited UMKC to only 35.7 percent shooting, and posted a 48-43 rebounding edge. A&M's pressure defense came up with 13 steals and forced 21 UMKC turnovers.

The Aggies are back in action Saturday against Bethune-Cookman at 7 p.m. at G. Rollie White Coliseum.
