TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH TONY BARONE:

"I was pleased with the effort tonight. We changed defenses a lot more and I was pleased with our execution. I'm always concerned about changing defenses a great deal because you may leave a player open and easy basket can occur. We wanted to be able to make adjustments on the floor with what the opponent was presenting and I thought we made good adjustments.

Larry Thompson played outstanding. He's been very focused and it shows on the floor.

It was good to get a lot of people in the game. Jerald Brown could have had a lot more points tonight, but it was more important to see the unselfish play of the players.

I'm pleased with where we are right now. We've got three games in six days so it was good to play a lot of players.

We showed good intensity for a game like this. The thing we wanted was to not come out and destroy our mentality. We weren't worried about how many points we scored. I don't like Calvin (Davis) and Shanne (Jones) only playing 20 minutes. If they played 30 minutes, the score would have been different and I didn't want that."

TEXAS A&M FORWARD SHANNE JONES:

"This is a lot better than it was last year. Last year our offense was lacking in continuity and this year people are moving, we're pressing, and we are working to get our shots. The tempo of this style requires us to be in shape. If we've got a hand on our knee in practice, Coach Barone reminds us that this is the style that we wanted so we have to suck it up. We like this style a lot, but we still need some improvements."

BETHUNE-COOKMAN HEAD COACH HORACE BROADNAX:

"We were obviously outmatched. Our goal was to be competitive with A&M, not beat A&M. You can definitely tell the difference in the two schools as far as money, facilities and meal plans. It's like night and day. I told our players that we could come in here and beat A&M if we made no mistakes and A&M had an off game. But, obviously that didn't happen. Our margin for error had to be small."
