Texas A&M Head Coach Tony Barone:
"I thought Colorado State made every big play they had to make. We had a big lead and were ready to put the nail in the coffin and they knocked down some big threes. I was pleased with the effort and intensity that we showed tonight. We rushed some shots but that was at a time when we were hot. The three-point shot is a double-edged sword. This game was not at all similar to last year's game (59-58 A&M win in Fort Collins). Last year, we made every shot we had to and this year they did."
On Arizona State Game Dec. 19 in Tempe:
"We'll take some time off for finals and then we'll head off to Arizona State. They are a very athletic team so it will be a very good game. We'll have Aaron Jack for this game and it will be good to have him playing."
Texas A&M Guard Jerald Brown:
"The threes gave us the lead and also confidence going into the second half. Chris (Clayton) stepped up and made some big time threes. In overtime, the threes wouldn't go down for us. I guess if you live by the three, you die by the three. In overtime, we could have had better shot selection. We should have fed the ball down low to our big men. We need to take some time on our own and shoot lots of free throws. We couldn't hit them down the stretch when it counted."
Texas A&M Guard Chris Clayton:
"It felt good hitting the treys, but at the end they wouldn't fall for me. I started rushing my shots and didn't concentrate."
Colorado State Head Coach Stew Morrill:
" I was real pleased with how our guys hung tough when they were down by 13. Ryan Chilton had his best game of the year, after coming off of a slow start. It was a heck of a basketball game and we are very fortunate to come out of here with a win. We are excited because we have played three Big 12 teams, and we are 2-1 against them. Texas A&M is a very athletic, great offensive rebounding team. They shot the ball really well. Their quickness bothered us when we were playing man-to-man, so we went to playing the zone. The zone was really effective for us. We made some big shots when the game was on the line. As a team you make your own breaks. I think our guards did a great job of making breaks for us tonight. When you are faced with a 13- point deficit it is hard to step up, but we did and we won the ball game."
Colorado State Center Ryan Chilton:
"We played Texas A&M last year, and they beat us in the last second. When we were down we thought we could come back and win the ball game, and we did. Our guards stepped up and hit some great shots late in the game and it got us going. Coming back from being 13 down is hard to do on the road. I think we were able to come back tonight because a few of us have been together for three or four years, and we know what to expect from each other."
Colorado State Guard Jameel Mahmud:
" We were down 13 and we stuck together as a team. We hit some big three pointers. But Ryan's (Chilton) tip-in at the buzzer got us going."
