Undefeated Oklahoma State shot a blazing 85 percent from the field in the second half to break open a close game and run away with a 100-65 victory against Texas A&M Saturday afternoon at G. Rollie White Coliseum in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.

The Cowboys (11-0) finished the game with 68.6 percent field goal accuracy, the best ever by an A&M opponent. The old record was 66.7 percent by Eddie Sutton's Arkansas Razorbacks in 1982 in Fayetteville. The Cowboys made 17-of-20 shots in the second half, including 7-of-9 from three-point range. OSU's 90.0 percent free throw accuracy (20-22) tied for the fourth best ever by an A&M opponent.

Oklahoma State led by as many as nine points in the first half but the Aggies trimmed the lead to six points at intermission. The Cowboys committed 16 first half turnovers but made 58.1 percent from the field to only 36.1 percent by the Aggies.

The Cowboys went on a 28-10 run in the first seven minutes of the second half for a 72- 48 lead. From there, A&M never came closer than 20 points.

For the game, the Aggies (6-5) made just 36.8 percent from the field, including 20.0 percent from three-point range (2-of-10). A&M out-rebounded the Cowboys, 35-30, with a 25-6 edge in offensive rebounds.

A&M's Shanne Jones led all scorers with 26 points with Calvin Davis was the only other Aggie in double figures with 12 points. Jones added a team-high nine rebounds, tying his career- best. Adrian Peterson led a group of five Cowboys scoring in double figures, finishing with 25 points. Desmond Mason added 21 points, Joe Adkins finished with 15 points, Doug Gottlieb tallied 12 points and Chad Alexander scored 11 points. OSU center Brett Robisch posted a game- high 10 rebounds to go with six points.

The Aggies play their first Big 12 road game of the year on Wednesday against Baylor in Waco.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. The Cowboys play host to Nebraska on Wednesday in Stillwater, also at 7 p.m.
