Texas A&M Athletic Director Wally Groff on Friday named a nine-person Search Committee to research potential candidates for head men's basketball coach. Groff said he hopes to hire a new coach no later than June 1.
The Search Committee includes five members of the Athletic Department, two members of the Athletic Council and two former students. Members of the committee are:
*Mike Caruso, Assistant Athletic Director for Promotions and Operations (chair)
*John Thornton, Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services
*Penny King, Associate Athletic Director for Business
*John David Crow, Director of Athletic Development
*Al Pulliam, Academic Counselor for Men's Basketball
*Bill Fuerst, Associate Dean College of Business/Athletic Council Chair
*James Flagg, Associate Professor of Accounting/Athletic Council Member
*Jim Creel, Former Student, Fort Worth, Texas
*Henry Goodwin, Former Student, Kingwood, Texas
