The No. 33-ranked Texas A&M golf team leads by one stroke after round one at the Big 12 Championships at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
Despite playing in inclement weather conditions, the Aggies claimed a one-stroke lead after firing a 306. No.49 Texas (307) is in second followed by No. 26 Oklahoma (311) and No. 7 Oklahoma State (312).
With wind chills dipping into the upper 20s, and non-stop rain, only 6 golfers scored 75 or better on the par 70, 6,593 yard course.
Oklahoma's Hunter Haas leads the individual race with a 2-over-par 72. A&M's Ryan Palmer is in a tie for 4th with a 74 and Lee Reed (75) stands alone in 6th.
"In all of my 24 years of coaching, this is by far the worst conditions we have played in," said A&M coach Bob Ellis.
The second round followed the second round today and the final round will be played on Tuesday morning beginning at 8 a.m.
