Texas A&M Head Football Coach R.C. Slocum announced two player developments at the Big 12 Media Day in Dallas.

Marc Broyles, a senior fullback from Tyler John Tyler, will not participate this season due to amyasthenia gravis, an autoimmune illness which is affecting the muscles around his eyelids. This prohibits him from opening his eyelids all the way.

He is currently seeing a neurological specialist in Houston who has recommended Marc refrain from heavy activity such as football for this season while he is undergoing drug therapy to hopefully resolve the problem.

"Losing Marc this season will hurt," Slocum said. "He is a tremendous blocker, but the main thing we want is for Marc to get healthy. Hopefully the muscles around the eyelid will respond to this therapy."

Broyles started seven games for the Aggies last season.

Offensive lineman Brandon Houston, a senior from Katy Taylor High School, will not play his senior season due to a back injury. Houston has lettered three years as a reserve offensive lineman.

"Brandon is taking a medical due to his back," Slocum said. "He will not participate again."
