The Texas A&M football team continued two-a-day workouts Friday at the Simpson Drill field for the morning workout and at the new grass practice fields for the evening workout.
No new injuries were reported from the day's practices. Both workouts for the Aggies were conducted in full pads.
Head coach R.C. Slocum welcomed 105 participants of the Sixth Annual Kickoff Camp to campus for the weekend. Campers range in age from 28 to 86 and spend the weekend attending football practice, player film sessions and other activities that inturn raise money for the Sterling C. Evans Library and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.
Slocum will present a check to the Band in the amount of $27,250 and a check to the library for $27,250 at the conclusion of the camp.
Among the camp participants are some former Aggies and some former NFL players: Grady Allen, Mike Arthur, Elo Nohavitza, and Cooper Robbins. A former swimmer Bruce Hoak and a former basketball player Pat McCrory are also in attendance.
The Aggies continue two-a-day workouts on Saturday in preparation for the season opener on Aug. 31 when the No. 15-ranked Aggies face the No. 2-ranked Florida State Seminoles in the Kickoff Classic at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J.
All practices remain closed to the public.
