The Texas A&M football team wrapped up the first week of practice with a two hour and twenty minute scrimmage at Kyle Field on Saturday.
"Overall, I am pleased with the first week of practice," Head Coach R.C. Slocum said. "We were pretty ragged tonight, and we have a long way to go to get ready for our first game in a couple of weeks."
Missing the scrimmage was tight end Derrick Spiller (thigh bruise), tight end RoDerrick Broughton (hamstring), offensive tackle Rex Tucker (calf strain), and Sedrick Curry (sprained knee).
During the scrimmage, running back Dante Hall aggravated his back injury and missed some work. Cornerback Shun Horn suffered a hamstring injury and defensive lineman Mike Kazmierski suffered a shoulder injury.
The Aggies, ranked #14 in the pre-season Associated Press poll, will open the season against Florida State on Aug. 31 in the Kickoff Classic in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Seminoles are ranked #2 in the AP poll.
The squad will work once on Sunday evening before resuming two-a-day workouts on Monday.
