The No. 14-ranked Texas A&M football team scrimmaged for 80 plays under the watchful eyes of a full crew of officials Thursday at Kyle Field. The Aggies were preparing for their Kickoff Classic XVI matchup with No. 2 Florida State at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Aug. 31.

"I thought it was a good scrimmage," head coach R.C. Slocum said. "Most importantly there were no significant injuries, which is always the biggest concern. We had a full crew of officials out there and marked off the penalties. We tried to simulate game action as much as we could. We did a lot of positive things and we didn't have many penalties, but we still have a lot of work to do."

True freshman fullback Ja'mar Toombs missed the scrimmage because of a contusion on his forehead. Returning to full speed at practice was senior running back Sirr Parker, who has been practicing but had been held out of contact drills.

Friday is the final day of two-a-day workouts for the Aggies. Saturday marks the annual Photo Day at Kyle Field, which begins at 10 a.m.
