Texas A&M junior guard Clifton Cook has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week by a panel of media members who cover Big 12 men's basketball. Oklahoma's Eric Martin was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week.
Cook averaged 15.0 points in the Aggies' three victories last week against Alabama (65-58), Sam Houston State (73-70) and Lamar (77-69). On Saturday against Lamar, Cook scored a career-high 27 points with seven rebounds and made 3-of-5 from three- point range.
Martin, a senior guard, came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points in the Sooners' 87-57 win against No. 19-ranked Arkansas, making 5-of-6 from three-point range.
The Aggies play host to Tulane on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Reed Arena.
