Former University of Colorado quarterback Jeremy Weisinger has enrolled at Texas A&M and will join the team immediately, Aggie head coach R.C. Slocum announced after Friday's workout.
"We recruited Jeremy out of Uvalde High School and we're excited to have him on our team," Slocum said. "He's a class young man, as well as an outstanding athlete."
A high school All-American at Uvalde, Weisinger earned all-state honors as a senior after completing 72-of-169 passes for 1,611 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushing for 1,450 yards and 21 scores on 187 carries. As a junior, Weisinger completed 76-of-156 passes for 870 yards and seven touchdowns, while rushing for 748 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he recorded 148 tackles and eight interceptions as a free safety. A versatile athlete, Weisinger also lettered in track and field and baseball, and was district champion in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and the long jump.
The Aggies worked out for an hour and a half in shorts in preparation for Monday's Kickoff Classic date with Florida State. The Aggies will conduct a walk-through Saturday morning before heading north. There were no new injuries.
