Four Texas A&M men's basketball players have been named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team, the Big 12 Conference Office announced Thursday.

Sophomore forward Aaron Jack (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks HS), junior forward Jason Boeker (Houston, Texas/Westbury Christian HS) were named to the first team and sophomore guard Michael Schmidt (Toronto, Canada/North Albion HS) and freshman guard Andy Leatherman (Spring, Texas/Klein HS) were named honorable mention.

Jack, a kinesiology major, is averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season while Boeker, a chemical engineering major, has appeared in 15 games. Schmidt and Leatherman are both general studies majors. Schmidt has started in 12 games and is averaging 7.5 points per game while Leatherman has appeared in 22 games.

A&M's four Academic All-Big 12 picks equal the most of any school in the league. Kansas and Missouri also had four players picked. Last year, A&M and Kansas also led the conference with four picks each.
