The Texas A&M football team wrapped up its first week of spring practice with its first scrimmage Thursday in front of several hundred fans at Kyle Field. The Aggies will resume workouts after spring break on Tuesday, March 23.
"I thought our first full scrimmage went well," A&M coach R.C. Slocum said. "I'm very pleased with the first six days of practice. The thing I'm most encouraged about is that the players have given great effort."
Offensively, Slocum said sophomore fullback Ja'Mar Toombs had a strong performance in the scrimmage while senior safety Brandon Jennings made some big plays on defense.
"I thought Ja'Mar looked good and had a good day running the ball," Slocum said. "And the defense played well, too. It was a good day for us. A lot of guys got a lot of reps."
