The Texas A&M men's golf team will close its season at The Maxwell by Pontiac Saturday and Sunday at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla.

The tournament consists of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday for a 54-hole total. Play begins at 8 a.m. each day.

In addition to A&M, the 14-team field includes No. 1-ranked Georgia, No. 6 Houston, No. 7 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Florida, No. 11 South Carolina, No. 13 Nebraska, No. 16 New Mexico, No. 24 Oklahoma, Auburn, Baylor, Southern California, SMU and Southwestern Louisiana.

A&M will be represented by senior Ryan Palmer, sophomore Casey Cronin, sophomore Clay Fullick, freshman Sean Gilliland and junior Lee Reed. Palmer will compete as an individual next week in the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus, Ohio.

"We hope to finish what has been a poor season on a positive note and try to build some momentum heading into next season," A&M coach Bob Ellis said. "This is another tough field, with most of these teams headed into postseason. Every year it is one of the top tournaments in college golf."
