Texas A&M Head Coach R.C. Slocum and the rest of the football staff, along with the academic support staff and Dr. Rick Rigsby, the Life Skills Development Coordinator will greet the Aggie newcomers on Monday.
The freshmen will undergo two days of academic orientation on Tuesday and Wednesday before hitting the grass practice fields on Thursday for a pair of workouts.
The returning varsity players of the defending Big 12 Conference champion Aggie squad will report for dinner on Thursday. The varsity players will have a day of physicals and equipment fitting on Friday.
The first day of full squad two-a-day workouts begin on Saturday, Aug. 14.
All practices are closed.
The Aggies open the 1999 season on Sept. 4 against Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
