Texas A&M Athletic Director Wally Groff announced an update on construction of the Bernard C. Richardson Zone at Kyle Field.

"After visiting with Bartlett Cocke construction representatives, the university has been assured that the lower deck, club seats and upper deck will be ready for the start of Big 12 play when Baylor comes to Kyle Field on Oct. 9," Groff said.

"We anticipate a capacity somewhere around 67,000 for the non-conference games and more than 80,000 for the Big 12 games this season," Groff added. "Entering the season in the Top 10 is exciting for our football program and we are thrilled that so many more fans can attend the games and have good seats."

Due to the increased capacity, the athletic ticket office will continue to accept season ticket applications ($180 for six home games) and single-game orders. Fans who purchase season tickets or multiple-game tickets have priority and may purchase up to four additional tickets for the Texas game. Any remaining single-game ticket orders will be filled after the season and multiple-game ticket orders have been filled.

The Aggies, ranked #7 in the preseason Associated Press poll, will open the year against Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4 in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana. The first home game is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 against Tulsa.
