The No. 7-ranked Texas A&M football team continued two-a-day workouts Tuesday in shorts and shoulder pads for the morning practice and just shorts and helmets in the evening at the grass practice facility at Kyle Field.

Among those missing portions of practice due to injury were freshman linebacker Jared Morris, sophomore wide receiver Bethel Johnson, senior running back Eric Bernard, sophomore linebacker Amon Simon, freshman linebacker Jessie Everline, freshman offensive lineman Andre Brooks, senior wide receiver Matt Bumgardner, junior wide receiver Michael Jennings, senior linebacker Chris Thierry and senior All-America punter Shane Lechler.

Morris, from Brownwood, has suffered a severely sprained ankle and is expected to miss several workouts.

Returning to workouts Tuesday was freshman defensive lineman Ty Warren, who is wearing a cast over his left thumb where a screw was surgically placed recently. Also, senior linebacker Chad Frantzen returned to active drills.

The Aggies will go through a light walk-through type workout Wednesday morning before a two-hour practice in the evening.

The defending Big 12 Champion Aggies begin their season on September 4 against Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. in Shreveport, La.
