
COOK EARNS SECOND BIG 12 ROOKIE OF WEEK HONOR

Texas A&M junior guard Clifton Cook has been named Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the Big 12 Conference office announced Monday.
Cook (Dayton, Ohio/Dunbar HS/Howard [Texas] College) averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals in games last week against No. 22-ranked Oklahoma State and Missouri. He scored 25 points and made a career-high 5-of-9 three- pointers against the Cowboys on Wednesday and scored 16 points with a career-high 14 assists against Missouri on Saturday.
Cook also earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors on Dec. 8. Cook and Kansas State junior forward Tony Kitt are the only league players to earn the honor twice this season.
Oklahoma State's Desmond Mason was named Big 12 Player of the Week after averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.5 steals in win last week against A&M and Baylor. He scored 24 points with 10 boards against the Aggies and followed with 32 points and 10 rebounds against Baylor on Saturday.
The Aggies play Texas Tech on Wednesday at 7:07 p.m. in Lubbock, then return home to meet Iowa State on Saturday at 7 p.m. in College Station.
