Nolan Butterfras of Houston, Texas has signed a national letter-of-intent to play college basketball at Texas A&M, Aggies coach Melvin Watkins said Wednesday.
A 6-10, 235-pound center from Cypress Creek High School, Butterfras is rated No. 86 on Recruiting Beat's list of the nation's top 100 prospects. As a junior last season, he averaged 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds with a high scoring game of 27 points. Butterfras also was recruited by Houston, Purdue, Iowa, Kansas State, Tulsa, Washington State and SMU, among others.
"We are excited about having Nolan sign early with us," Watkins said. "We think he'll add to our depth in the front court and will be an enjoyable addition to the roster for our fans."
