
Hardeman Declared Eligible

Texas A&M Head Football Coach R.C. Slocum announced D'Andre "Tiki" Hardeman was declared eligible to compete this fall.
"I am pleased to announce that Tiki Hardeman has been declared eligible and is cleared to compete this fall," Slocum said. "He didn't give up, but instead chose to work as hard as he could in the classroom and I'm proud of him. I look forward to having him on the playing field."
Hardeman, a senior from Houston North Shore High School, enters the 1999 season with 1,595 career yards. With his 34 career touchdowns, he has been nicknamed "Touchdown Tiki". Hardeman can play either the "A" or "B" position in the Aggie backfield. He holds the Aggie record for longest touchdown run from scrimmage of 95 yards against Baylor in 1996. Hardeman rushed for 121 yards against Texas in 1997 earning Chevrolet MVP honors and also rushed for 121 yards on seven carries against Baylor in 1996.
"I'm excited to get back on the playing field," Hardeman said. "I did my very best. I'm looking forward to helping my teammates win this season and I plan to continue making progress toward my degree."
