Texas A&M Head Coach Melvin Watkins:

"We don't like to lose any games. We didn't deserve to win this game. We didn't play well enough. We didn't come out and play with any enthusiasm. Give Baylor some credit for the win. We played some very uninspired basketball. We tried to run plays a little more aggressive in the second half. We still made a lot of mental mistakes but that is due to a lot of inexperience. The Oklahoma Sate win was good for us but now we are back playing inconsistent. It starts in practice. We don't have enough guys challenging for playing time. I would hope some of the mistakes would be gone by now. Jerald Brown being out really hurts. It is just another adjustment we have to make."

Texas A&M Forward Aaron Jack:

(On Tevis Stukes) "We knew he was a good player. We talked about not letting him get hot but he got it done. They hit their shots. Obviously, it is a disappointing loss. It is a game we have to win. You have to protect your home court. We waited too late to start playing. We started off flat but, I'll put that on myself. I am the only one out there with experience so I have got to get us going."

Baylor Head Coach Dave Bliss:

"It feels good to have played three good halves in a row and we are happy to play well on the road. It is always good to get a road win. (Tevis) Stukes shot the ball well and we made our free throws down the stretch when it counted. They are a good young basketball team and we are going to have some good battles down the road. We made our open shots today. We have had a lot of open shots lately but we made them tonight. DeMarcus (Minor) did a good job of getting everyone involved and he hit some tough shots when others were not. It is just a terrific win for us on the road in this conference."

Baylor Guard DeMarcus Minor:

"In this conference every team will give you their best. It is tough to win on the road in this conference. Tonight we hit our shots and that was the difference. We have been working on a more balanced offense in practice. The posts made their moves quick tonight and kicked it out when they were not open. That gave us some good looks and we made the open shot."

Baylor Guard Tevis Stukes:

"We concentrated on our 'flex' offense and the team set good picks to get me and DeMarcus (Minor) open. Our post players played well tonight and they passed well to (Terry) Black and Jamie (Hendrick) who were cutting to the basket. It feels good to get a win."

NOTES:

Baylor's win tonight was its first in College Station since a 95-92 double-overtime win in 1994 that cost A&M a share of the SWC Championship. Since then A&M has won five straight in College Station.

The Aggies 13 three-point field goals set a school record breaking the old mark of 12 set against Rice in 1990 and against Lamar earlier this season. The Aggies 13 treys tonight also set a Reed arena record.

Bernard King's six three pointers tied a Reed Arena record.

The Aggies 28 three point attempts tied for the third most in school history and tied for the most in a conference game.

Andy Slocum scored 10 points and added seven rebounds both career highs, all in the first half.

Aaron Jack scored a career-high 18 points with 10 rebounds. On Saturday against Missouri he tied his previous career high with 14. He also had 14 last season against Stephen F. Austin.

Baylor's nine three pointers marked the 10th time this season the Aggies have surrendered nine or more treys in a game.

Jamal Gilchrist tied his career high with seven assists. He also had seven against Oklahoma State and North Carolina A&T.

The Aggies have out-rebounded 13 of their last 18 opponents.
