On Momentum Gained from Colorado Win:
"With this team it has been very tough to build momentum. I contribute that to our youthfulness and our lack of experience. You would think that a win like the one on Saturday would give us momentum going into our next game, but I'm not sure that it did. We're just trying to get better everyday and build on the things we have learned."
On Frustrations About the Season:
"I've tried to work very hard for it not to be frustrating for me because I know we are going through some growing pains. I've tried to find ways to amuse myself this year, and I don't want the kids to think I have given up on them. I definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I know this group of kids is going to be the foundation of what is going to get us where we want to go with this program."
On Baylor Game on Wednesday:
"The last time we played Baylor, I thought our kids had the look in their eyes like they thought it was going to be a tune up for us. That could not have been further from the truth. We have to come out and play hard and play our best every time out. I think the last time we played Baylor was a good wake up call, and I don't think we'll take them lightly this time. Anytime you go on the road in the Big 12 it is a tough challenge."
On Texas Tech Game on Saturday:
"They're going to be breathing fire. If we handle that right, it should make for a very exciting afternoon of college basketball here on our campus. Tech will come in here thinking we stole one up there, and they will have every intent to get it back."
On Tomas Ress's ankle injury:
"We're still not sure if he is going to play against Baylor or not. He didn't practice Monday, so we're just going to take it day by day. You might see him play some minutes just to see if he can go."
On Aaron Jack Getting Another Year of Eligibility:
"Right now, we're at the mercy of the NCAA. It looks pretty obvious that they would give him another year because he has a pretty good case, but you never know what is going to happen."
On Where the Team is Right Now:
"We feel like we've made some strides, and we could be right in the middle of the pack. We're not ready to compete with the teams in the top half of the conference, but you have to start somewhere. Our goal right now is to get to the middle of the pack, and then we'll try to get to the upper echelon of the conference in the future. I think we are definitely headed in the right direction."
On the Freshman Backcourt (Bernard King and Jamaal Gilchrist):
"Teams have really started to try and shut down Bernard and he had been struggling a little bit with that recently, but he came out and had a huge game against Colorado. But I think the unsung hero of that game would have to be Jamaal. He had eight rebounds, eight assists and 15 points. Our two rookies got it done for us in that game. Now I've challenged those two guys to come out and try and put back-to-back games together."
