The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the UTSA Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Oak Hills Country Club.

The tournament will consist of 18 holes on Monday and 36 holes on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes. Play begins at 8 a.m. each day.

In addition to A&M, the 18-team tournament includes Texas-San Antonio, Nebraska, Lamar, McNeese State, North Texas, Southwest Texas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Stephen F. Austin, Baylor, Wichita State, Arkansas, Oral Roberts, Southeastern Louisiana, Sam Houston State, Nicholls State, Toledo and Louisiana-Monroe.

"This should be a great tournament," A&M coach Bob Ellis said. "It's a very important tournament for us because all the teams are in our district. We need to beat these teams to get into regionals later this spring."

The NCAA Central Regional is set for May 18-20 in Victoria. The top eight teams in District 6 (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana) will advance to the regional.

Representing A&M will be senior Ty Cox (Amarillo), junior Casey Cronin (Rockwall), sophomore Sean Gilliland (Killeen) and freshmen Matt Lindholm (Georgetown) and junior Matt Loving (Corpus Christi).
