Texas A&M freshman Bernard King has been named second-team All-District 9 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
King, a 6-3 guard, is averaging 16.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists and has made a school record 75 three-point field goals. He is the top scoring guard in the Big 12 in conference play and is the only freshman in the country to average at least 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
The first-team All-District 10 team consists of Texas' Chris Mihm and Gabe Muoneke, SMU's Jeryl Sasser and Willie Davis, Houston's Gee Gervin and Texas Tech's Rayford Young. The second team consists of King, TCU's Marquis Gainous, North Texas' Chris Davis, Lamar's Landon Rowe and SMU's Willie Davis.
